VaCO Summer Course 2018

Date: August 20, 2018 – August 27, 2018
Time: Residential
Location: Cundall Manor School, North Yorkshire YO61 2RW

Summer 2018 we’ll be hosting our next full chamber orchestra residential course. Final repertoire and course details will be confirmed soon on our site but we have opened early-bird applications for any advanced students that may already be excited to apply.

A sensational summer course specialising in orchestral repertoire with coaching from our world-class tutors.

Our residential courses offer world-class training in orchestral and chamber music for advanced young musicians. We combine professional rehearsal techniques and standards of performance with a course that is enjoyable and friendly.

During the course, participants will be immersed into the wonderful world of chamber orchestra music and ensemble repertoire, culminating in a series of five evening concerts across North Yorkshire, with additional performance opportunities for smaller groups in an afternoon recital. VaCO courses are famous for being great fun – but they are also hard work and offer excellent musical experience and networks.

The course fee includes coaching from all tutors and our musical director, Xenophon Kelsey MBE, transport during the course and full board.

I’ve been on a lot of VaCO courses during my time as a student and afterwards; they’re always so much fun and you get to meet people from all over the country and even from other countries that you would never meet otherwise. It’s incredibly satisfying to work with such high calibre musicians to make music of an extremely high standard - I always come back for more. The courses are hard work but it is all worth it – because of VaCO I’ve seen myself grow massively as a musician and a person.
